Two men have been charged over the blowing up of a telephone box in Adelaide’s northeast overnight.
Police say the blast, at Hampstead Gardens just after midnight (CST), scattered debris over a wide area, triggered shop alarms and woke up many residents.
Two men, aged 30 and 42, were arrested soon afterwards – the police used closed circuit television video to track them to a nearby house.
Fireworks were found in the house and in a car.
The men were charged with arson, acts to endanger life and failing to secure ammunition.
They are expected to appear in court on Monday.
