The Obama administration says that when the U.N. Human Rights Council adopts a report on the review of a country’s human rights record, the step is a mere formality and does not imply endorsing the report’s contents.
Last Wednesday, the Geneva-based HRC adopted a report on Libya’s human rights record that was first drafted during the Gaddafi era.
Despite the fact that the report incorporated expressions of praise for that regime by governments including Pakistan, Iran, Sudan, Syria, North Korea and “Palestine,” neither the U.S. nor any other council member objected to the report’s adoption – despite having been given the opportunity to do so by the HRC’s president.
The report was the outcome of Libya’s “universal periodic review” (UPR), a procedure in which every member of the U.N. has its human rights record evaluated once every four years.
Its adoption drew criticism from some veteran observers of the U.N.

No dont remember when USA was so good and its never been factual. Just ask Mcarthy
Gaddafi was NOT perfect, but did a LOT of good things!
he HELPED people needing homes, wanting to farm, or to go to school.
literacy went from 12% to over 80%. jobs were developed, infrastructure too.
there were some who didnt like him, he offered them LAND in the corner of the country,
he offered help for em to develop it and they flatly refused then demonized him.
most all of “Gadaffi’s wealth” WAS in a public trust.. stolen now of course.
the US-UN-NATO stomped in and killed more people in weeks,
than Gaddafi did in some 40 years as “dictator”, is an ugly truth,
and the killing isnt even near done yet! they handed it over to AL-QAEDA,
after destroying the cities and salting the Earth with depleted uranium.
OF COURSE THEY DONT WANT TO TALK ABOUT THE TRUTH,
the “leaders” are guilty of crimes against nature and humanity, and they know it!

Great comment. All truth. Gaddafi was a better man then Americans think. They Demonized him for years. I had totally sympathy for him and his family, which later fueled anger upon his murder.
Oh I know….go tell that to Hillary ! They threw everything at Gadaffi except for the kitchen sink, they tried to blame all of terrorism on him too ! Well, the blood isn’t on my hands….just follow the money, you’ll see who all they were.
Human rights council = genocide cover up council
EPA = kill birds with windmills but charge $million fine if one gets oil on its feet
FDA = poison immunity
Board of Education = Propaganda warehouse
ACLU = only if you like stalin
OSHA = just have china make it – you can’t work in the USA
