UK: Ex-Race Police Chief Warns on Islam

By Marcus Cicero. The former head of Britain’s race-police Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) has condemned what he called “unassimilated” Moslem communities in the UK, and admitted that the large-scale admission of Muslims was a mistake with serious consequences.

Labour Party-supporting Trevor Phillips, who served as EHRC Chairman from 2003–2012, made his remarks in a Sunday Times article ahead of a TV documentary titled What British Moslems Really Think, due to air this coming week.

In his article, Phillips lamented the fact that his original condemnation of nationalist sentiments about the dangers of Muslim encroachment neglected to foresee future nightmare scenarios in Britain.

“It’s not as though we couldn’t have seen this coming. But we’ve repeatedly failed to spot the warning signs,” he admitted.

“Twenty years ago, when I published the report titled ‘Islamophobia: A Challenge for Us All’, we thought that the real risk of the arrival of new communities was discrimination against Muslims.

“Our 1996 survey of recent incidents showed that there was plenty of it around. But we got almost everything else wrong.”

The original report, issued as part of the “Runnymede Report” in 1997 set the tone for the word “Islamophobia” to enter common usage, and to eventually become a battering ram of silence against anyone in the West who dared question the Muslim invasion of European nations.

Phillips goes on to explain in detail that not only did his predictions of “racial prejudice” against Muslims largely prove false, but in fact helped to whitewash the violent social disturbances which have plagued Britain for nearly twenty years.

“We estimated that the Muslim population of the UK would be approaching 2 [million] by 2020. We underestimated by nearly a million,” Phillips continued.

“We predicted that the most lethal threat to Muslims would come from racial attacks and social exclusion. We completely failed to foresee the urban conflicts of 2001 that ravaged our northern cities. And of course we didn’t dream of 9/11 and the atrocities in Madrid, Paris, Istanbul, Brussels, and London.”

Phillips then admitted that Muslims had no intention of “integrating” or becoming Europeans.

“For a long time, I too thought that Europe’s Muslims would become like previous waves of migrants, gradually abandoning their ancestral ways, wearing their religious and cultural baggage lightly, and gradually blending into Britain’s diverse identity landscape. I should have known better,” he wrote.

And, in a dramatic break from official government doctrine concerning the “grooming” of young white girls by nonwhite gangs, Phillips—perhaps not fearing sanctions due to the fact that he is black—denounced the grooming crimes as being motivated only by hatred.

“The contempt for white girls among some Muslim men has been highlighted by the recent scandals in Rotherham, Oxford, Rochdale, and other towns. But this merely reflects a deeply ingrained sexism that runs through Britain’s Muslim communities,” he wrote.

Phillips also laid the majority of the blame for the current situation on the heads of the “elites” ruling the West, and claims that their intransigence has left the new generation with damage that has no guarantee of ever being repaired.

“Oddly, the biggest obstacles we now face in addressing the growth of this nation-within-a-nation are not created by ‘British Muslims’ themselves,” he wrote.

“Many of our (distinctly un-diverse) elite political and media classes simply refuse to acknowledge the truth. Any undesirable behaviours are attributed to poverty and alienation. Backing for violent extremism must be the fault of the Americans. Oppression of women is a cultural trait that will fade with time, nothing to do with the true face of Islam.”

“Even when confronted with the growing pile of evidence to the contrary, and the angst of the liberal minority of British Muslims, clever, important people still cling to the patronising certainty that British Muslims will, over time, come to see that ‘our’ ways are better.”

Despite coming from a nonwhite far left position—which would exclude him advocating the only possible solution to the problem, namely mass deportations and sealed borders—Phillips’s change of heart demonstrates that the times are changing, and that the masses cannot forever remain indifferent to the destruction of their homeland.
