Zarif departs Oslo for Berlin

Oslo, June 15, IRNA – Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif departed Oslo, capital of Norway, for Berlin, capital of Germany.

Zarif is due to meet with German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier during his short stay in Berlin.

On his second European tour, Zarif arrived in Oslo on Sunday afternoon.

He met with Norwegian prime minister, foreign minister, parliament speaker, and head of foreign policy, defensive commission of the parliament as well as two former prime ministers of the country and discussed bilateral relations with them on Monday.

He attended Oslo Forum 2016 and discussed necessity for fundamental change in settlement of regional conflicts.

On the sidelines of the Forum, Zarif held talks with EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini on relations between Iran and European Union and implementation of Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.

He also met with US Secretary of State John Kerry in Oslo to raise Iranian grievances about the US Department of Treasury procrastinaction over authorizing online euro-dollar exchange for Iranian businesses envisaged by JCPOA.

Deputy Foreign Ministers Seyed Abbas Araqchi and Majid Takht-e Ravanchi are accompanying Zarif.
