Eric Schmidt Admits Google+ Is a Giant Advertising Database

New Facebook-style social networking is part of Google’s plan to “own your online ID”

Google CEO Chairman Eric Schmidt has tacitly admitted that the company’s Facebook-style social networking platform, Google+, is little more than a sprawling advertising database for the benefit of big corporations to target end users.

During an interview with National Public Radio in Edinburgh over the weekend, Schmidt responded to a question about why Google+ had adopted real-name policies and in doing so eliminated anonymity for its users.

“He (Eric) replied by saying that G+ was built primarily as an identity service, so fundamentally it depends on people using their real names if they’re going to build future products that leverage that information,” NPR journalist Andy Carvin told Bloomberg Businessweek.

In other words, Google+ is a honey trap designed to sucker people into revealing as many details about their personal interests, consumer habits and spending patterns as possible, so that such information can be sold to large corporations who can then use targeted advertising to sell products.

“It begs the question of whom Google built this service for? You or them,” asks blogger Fred Wilson, noting how “this is an admission by the company that it wants to be an identity gatekeeper.”

Schmidt’s admission makes sense when you consider the fact that Google’s GMail service uses the content of supposedly private email communications to create context-specific ads that are displayed alongside email messages.

2011 Bilderberg attendee Schmidt has repeatedly made his disdain for privacy well known.

During a 2009 CNBC appearance, the Google honcho stated, “If you have something that you don’t want anyone to know, maybe you shouldn’t be doing it in the first place,” in response to concerns over Google’s lack of privacy protections for its search engine results.

The company has also been in hot water on numerous occasions for breaking privacy laws in Canada and Europe over its StreetView service.

  1. We might “plus one” only anti New world order Sites using Google accounts established under temporary email accounts. There is a benefit to taking our ideas mainstream using Google. If you have a website, please upload pictures and illustrations that hate on the NWO. They are now all over Google’s image search.

  2. Diaspora is the answer to this. It’s only in alpha right now, but it is an open-source, non-advertising/data farming, decentralized social network unlike Facebook and Google+. It is decentralized in that anyone can run a “pod” on their server that can pass information between other pods. You can join one of the pods at diasp(dot)org.

  5. I am getting tired of Google, one time I was looking stuff up about me by typing my name and subject and there goes posts I have been before and the whole damn world can see it. I try to go to the site and I have been successful in deleting the information I put in before like a Yahoo! group. Now I have to watch what I post, and if it appears on Yahoo! groups results then I unsubscribe to the group.

  6. They want to sell good product here’s a list of things they’ve been neglecting to remember to delete:

    1) Soft Serve Ice Cream (WTF, honestly…)
    2) PVC (STILL the gas industry standard)
    3) Tartrazine (I documented depression in some people)
    4) Aspartame (Nono, toxicity and moderate dependency is OK, doncha know?)

    Get rid of those and we’ll talk business. Anything else I could say is horseshit compared to what needs to go.

  10. The biggest threat to the NWO is not to pour out in the streets, protest, etc. (They WANT that.) Their biggest threat is people simply ignoring their “services”, products, GMO’s, movies, t.v. shows, etc. These people are truly the victors.
    Pay attention to what they are putting out, but don’t take part in it. Simple lives lived without their intrusion will give one plenty of time to educate oneself, and then take the knowledge to others. Shop mom and pop stores, farmers markets, support independent commerce whenever you can. Consider moving out of big cities. Keep your kids awake, talk to them, do stuff with them, keep them off the t.v. and vid games.
    They want us to become small versions of THEM, greedy, materialistic, hungry for sex, power, violence…but they’ll still commit genocide against the lot of us, whether we’re suckling from their teat or not.

    • That is correct, and it is the only solution I have found. However:

      It is getting increasingly hard to simply be “left alone”.

      They are ever-encroaching, demonizing those who wish not to participate.

      Through taxes levied without representation, my sovereignty is continuously diminished.

      Through regulations enforced without legal process, my sovereignty is continuously diminished.

      Through subversion of the social perspective, my sovereignty is continuously diminished.

      There will come a day when avoiding interaction with the violent and opressive system, will simply become impossible.

      On that day, I will still not give in.

  11. Well if Google insists on being big brother I’ll give them what they want to hear. I’ll create an account that shows I am a sheeple who watches Fox News/CNN, American Idol, MTV, etc, I vote for mainstream neocon republicans. I think I’ll create a dummy facebook account also.
