Gun store owner had misgivings about ATF sting

In the fall of 2009, ATF agents installed a secret phone line and hidden cameras in a ceiling panel and wall at Andre Howard’s Lone Wolf gun store. They gave him one basic instruction: Sell guns to every illegal purchaser who walks through the door.

For 15 months, Howard did as he was told. To customers with phony IDs or wads of cash he normally would have turned away, he sold pistols, rifles and semiautomatics. He was assured by the ATF that they would follow the guns, and that the surveillance would lead the agents to the violent Mexican drug cartels on the Southwest border.

When Howard heard nothing about any arrests, he questioned the agents. Keep selling, they told him. So hundreds of thousands of dollars more in weapons, including .50-caliber sniper rifles, walked out of the front door of his store in a Glendale, Ariz., strip mall.

  1. I went in to Lonewolf 3 or 4 years ago to purchase a firearm.I was filling out the paperwork and I told him I just bought a house and my address on my license wasnt current.I then asked if he wanted my new current address,he sayed he couldnt sell me the pistol until I updated my address on my license or showed him a bill with my name and address on it. Im also a CCW holder but it didnt matter.

  2. Throwing around your ignorant, uneducated and MORONIC personal opinion of someone you don’t know anything about is juvenile. To say that you definitively know about someones character or integrity without having personally interacted with them is ridiculous. Do you know for a fact that he doesn’t own a gun? That he doesn’t hunt? I didn’t think so. Criticizing someone whom you don’t know and about things that you know nothing about only serves to separate people further. I was just curious how much time you spend polling gun store owners as to there personal collection of guns? You know a limited number of people in comparison to the population as do the rest of us. When you speak out with an opinion based on emotion instead of facts it becomes a rant. This story is about the government showing us yet again that it is a criminal organization. It’s not however meant to attack a law abiding citizen that you have no knowledge of. If you’re going to waste peoples time do it on conglomerate website where nobody cares as there are already full of garbage. If you’re going to be involved in a movement of any kind do so with vigilance and intelligence not stupidity and finger pointing.

  3. Maybe he’s just trying to cover his butt??

  4. He could have said “No, what you are asking me to do is against the law. Show me a court order to do this, otherwise I refuse.” The owner is a moron! Why didn’t he call his attorney immediately?????!!!!!

And…the gun store is called “Lone Wolf”??? Seriously, just how dumb is this imbecile???

None of these stories surprise me anymore because I know that people are just that dumb… But what is even more silly is that the people on this website actually DEFEND THE STUPIDITY!!!

  5. How the hell is it the store owner says he does not own a gun nor does he hunt but accidently falls in to the gun selling business? How the heck many people do you know that own a gun store but don’t own a firearm themselves? I don’t know of A.N.Y! Thats why the ATF picked that moron to sell guns to criminals! Because he is a MORON!

  6. Real time evidence of the ATF directly telling a gun shop owner to OPEN THE FLOOD GATES. I want all of the names of the agents involved and their superiors. They should be incarcerated until they can be hauled off before an Special Commission of Inquiry and dealt with. Daniel Issa and Sen. Grassley, let’s see if you really do something.
