Since inheriting a ruined economy from the drunkard Boris Yeltsin in 2000, Putin’s reforms have powered and propelled a broken and ransacked gangster state into what is now the 5th largest economy in the world (recently surpassing Germany!). Living standards, wages, birth rates, life expectancy are all up and rising. The secret behind Russia’s rapid rise and continued growth, despite Western sanctions, are its pro-business policies which include a 13% flat income tax, decentralization, deregulation and minimal state debt. Private enterprise, including a rapidly growing private health care sector, is growing and the historically underdeveloped Far East is also progressing.
