The incident occurred on Tuesday when a bomb detonated on Platform No. 2 of the station, sending panicked passengers on a rush.
There was one policeman among the victims of the “huge blast,” rescue workers said, adding that the death toll could rise as most of the injured were in critical condition.
The bomb blast also damaged the railway station and nearby buildings.
Police forces cordoned off the area immediately and security was put on high alert.
Pakistani officials said an investigation will soon be conducted into how the bomb made its way into the station.
