RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Gas prices have been steadily rising in Virginia this month, but they remain lower than last year at this time.
Auto club AAA reports that fuel prices nationwide are 21 cents cheaper per gallon than a year ago. As of Friday, the national average price for a gallon of regular self-serve gas was $3.49. That’s up 4 cents from the previous week.
In Virginia, the auto club says the price of a gallon of gas is significantly lower — $3.35.
Since July 2, the national average retail price has increased almost on a daily basis.
