The defense ministry said on Saturday that the Yemeni air force carried out two airstrikes in the province, Xinhua reported.
The attacks also left five people wounded, according to the ministry.
More than 250 people have been killed in the fighting and airstrikes in southern Yemen over the past two weeks.
US drones and Yemeni warplanes have regularly targeted southern regions.
The impoverished Arab state slipped into a state of chaos after the outbreak of nationwide protests rallies more than a year ago, leading to the removal of its US-backed dictator Ali Abdullah Saleh.
