On Friday, an Islamabad-bound Boeing 737 plane crashed outside Islamabad airport near the Chaklala airbase.
All of the 127 people on board the plane, including 11 children and six crew members, were killed.
In a message to Pakistani Premier Yousuf Raza Gilani on Sunday, Rahimi offered “sincere condolences over the death of a number of your countrymen.”
According to local media reports, the cause of the incident was bad weather conditions.
Sources in the Civil Aviation Authority say the plane was given clearance to land, but lost contact with the control tower minutes before it crashed in the town of Goral.
Witnesses said that flames could be seen rising from the crash site and the fire engulfed several nearby buildings.
