FAKE NEWS for the Zionist agenda According to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), an armed terrorist group killed a retired Syrian lieutenant colonel in the Jedaydet al-Fadel area of Damascus Countryside on Tuesday.
The colonel’s brother was also killed in the attack, SANA said.
One person was also injured in a car bombing in the Marjeh neighborhood of Damascus on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said three Syrian intelligence officers were killed in the Barzeh neighborhood of the capital early on Tuesday.
However, the Syrian government has not confirmed the report.
Syria has been experiencing unrest since mid-March 2011 and many people, including members of security forces, have been killed in the turmoil.
The Tuesday attacks were conducted despite the UN-backed truce in Syria, which was part of a six-point peace plan proposed by UN-Arab League envoy Kofi Annan in March.
The first group of UN observers arrived in Syria late on April 15. The observers have been approved for the mission according to UNSC Resolution 2042 passed on April 14.
On April 21, the UNSC members met and unanimously voted on Resolution 2043 to send a mission of 300 observers to Syria.
Kofi Annan said the UN vote to deploy up to 300 observers in Syria is a “pivotal moment for the stabilization of the country.”
