Congresswoman Michele Bachmann is being called the “Queen of the Straw Poll” after her victory at the Iowa straw poll yesterday for the GOP presidential nomination.
Bachmann, who finished with 4823 votes, narrowly beat second-place finisher Congressman Ron Paul who collected 4671 votes.
The Ames poll, although important because of the early significance of Iowa in the primaries, is nonbinding and unscientific.
AFP reported that “It has been criticized as playing too heavily in favor of candidates that are well financed, since their campaigns can buy the $30 tickets for their supporters to attend and presumably vote in their favor.”
The Ames event was considered to be a Republican fundraiser, yet Bachmann’s campaign bought and “handed out at least 4,000 free tickets to supporters.”

Therefore, Bachmann appears to have rigged the vote at a minimum direct cost of $120,000 to her campaign. It’s unclear whether any of the other candidates engaged in this same behavior.
Another anomaly with the vote surfaced this morning when it was discovered that 218 votes went unaccounted for. In other words, these votes were in the overall tally but not registered to any of the candidates.
One would think the media would attempt to uncover the discrepancy given the razor thin 152-vote margin between Bachmann and Paul. However, so far, they’ve been content to call her the “queen” of the event.

Whosoever watches MSM is a willful idiot and that amounts to the majority of the votes that are diebold rigged to begin with…everyone on this site supposedly knows that the POTUS is appointed and not elected but reason goes out the door even with infowarriors when it comes to making an idol out of someone including RP.
I am convinced voters are the most deluded people on the planet falling for another “hope and change” POTUS. Maybe if everyone taps their heels together 3 times and says “i wish i was home i wish i was home” it would be just as effective.

It’s a disgrace that she’s crowding Paul who actually could win this when Bachmann has NO chance with an American public that’s still got an IQ slightly above room temperature. Bachmann and Palin should both retreat to their respective holes and flush it next time. And I say this as a woman.

If it only cost 120,000 Federal Reserve Pesos to win it I’m surprised Obama bin Soetoro didn’t win it, after all he and his henchmen are just printing the stuff like drunken sailors.
We found out a long time ago that everything about an election is rigged. They all do it. Just have the fucks fill out a job application like everyone else does and have a consitutional sheriff hire the best person for the job. That’ll end all the bs about elections. I mean if you have fill a job position that would be a better way of doing it.
All of the top 4 finishers were giving away tickets for free or a reduced price and free bus rides to the event. Including Ron Paul. Interestingly about an hour before the tally was announced Fox News said the Bachman campaign was bragging about giving away close to 6000 tickets. So she had a lot of people taking tickets and then voting for someone else. I’d say 90% of the people there had their ticket paid for by a campaign, it’s just part of the event.
I was thinking the exact same thing. Its funny if she did give away that many tickets and only got 80% of them to vote for her. That and I’m sure she had a ton of votes from people only interested in going to the Randy Travis concert at her tent. RP I know gave away discounted tickets, and you had to sign up for it before July 4th I believe to get them discounted. (didnt hear anything about Ron giving away free tickets although he may have)

I completely agree. Palin has always disgusted me. She’s a complete egotist, hypocrite and cheap crook. She’s chiseled her way into politics and then backstabbed most of the fools who helped get her there. She’s absolutely despicable. I say this as a woman. I believe her role in the 2008 election was to GUARANTEE that McCain (whom I also despise) would not be elected, and that Obama would be. If she had not been on the ticket, McCain would have won.
This was a case of home field advantage. Nothing like winning a poll on the way to a family reunion.

Read the article. If Bachmann “rigged the vote”, then so did every single other candidate; including Ron Paul.
To be fair I and 3 of my friends recieved 4 free tickets from the Ron Paul campaign.(of course we all voted for Ron) Most of the canidates were giving away free tickets and bus rides to the straw poll so it only wasnt a Bachman thing.

She believes a woman should be submissive to her husband, and this is the same thing as respect for each other? Um, I believe that a marriage is something NOT to be dominated by one or the other, but mutual in decision making. Who enters into a partnership to become a slave/obey, or to be dominated? Is that where she would lead this nation?
Man is the ‘head of household’ for his masculine qualities, which enable him [physically] to be able to protect his family. The kind of submissiveness [respect] which she indicated, says that a wife should “OBEY” her husband. That is a very dangerous kind of [false Christian] way of thinking, in my opinion. It sounds more like programming.
Fyi, they also raised 23 foster children. That makes a decent income too. And as parents, they both should have a say in that decision making; especially when it comes to raising children.
This is just my opinion, but I know someone who is in that kind of relationship. She also is extremely unhappy, and a hypocrite. Her family is ‘supposed’ to be Christian based, but it is all messed up. Sad.

First, to obey Scripture, though not popular or politically correct these days, is above reproach from you or me. Two people, though both qualified drivers cannot drive the car, one must take leadership. It does not dimminish the other. Her relationship with her husband, and her response to her conscience are neither yours, mine nor anyone else’s business. Second, while there have been abuses, one would certainly immagine that the Bachmans did not house/raise foster children for money, they did it out of compassion. How many have you helped? Thirdly, you evidently have strong psychic ability to label someone ‘unhappy’ or a ‘hypocrite,’ since that would indicate the ability to discern the human heart. So I label your comment as just another, vacuous, hateful comment…sadly, this is the kind this site often draws.

Just began some research on Michele B. The foster childen cited were actually girls who had various emotional problems; some had eating disorders, for example, and were placed in the care of the Bachmanns who received over $l00 thousand dollars from gov funds, some were Medicaid payments. The girls were only there for a short period of time–some only a few months, I take it. (Congresswoman Bachmann, as a GOP operative, has defunding Medicaid on her list of things to do. Irony catches up with fibbing politicians.
Backmann’s husband has a Ph.D in psychology and they own a facility in MN; one goal within their program is to degay gay people. Their education is from religious institutions such as Oral Roberts U. and the law school run by Pat Robertson, Regency School in Carolina. Now if you know anything about these two preachers, you might assume they have an agenda. And that agenda is motivated by fundamentalism. So the GOP is on a course to use religion once again to trick the electorate into believing God is paramount in their political philosophy.
This is the main reason for the separation of church and state; religion and politics are a deadly brew from any point of view. Recall GW Bush’s conversion just before his political ambitions were realized. Now think back to his administration’s eight-year reign of terror against the American people; and recall he cited his “strict constitutionalist” mantra throughout his campaign for president; Bachmann is parroting the same schpiel. And Perry will follow a similar duplicitious road when sprinting from Austin to D.C. Ron Paul may be the only answer.
How come no one mentions that the Constitution never refers to the President as “she”?
The Constitution needs to be amended to allow a woman President.
So why waste time on Bachmann?

I live in Australia and let me tell you something….. I have never heard the name Ron Paul in the media over here, 80% owned by the Aussie Rupert Murdoch… so if you don’t believe that they are keeping Ron Paul out of it, you are sooooo wrong.
