SIX people were injured last night after a balcony crashed three metres to the ground.
Neighbours at the Collaroy St, Collaroy home, on the northern beaches, rushed to the aid of the injured who were left tangled in the debris.
Police said 10 people were on the wooden balcony at 9.55pm when it came away from the house.
Paramedics treated the injured at the scene, with six teenagers – two 19-year-old men, two 18-year-old men and two 17-year-old girls – taken to Royal North Shore Hospital. All were in a stable condition, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Neighbours ran to help after hearing the collapse, finding people trapped in the debris.
“The sound was sickening with broken glass tables and people screaming,” said neighbour Kelly Emerson.

“I grabbed as many blankets as possible to keep people warm.”
She said there hadn’t been a large party and believed the recent heavy rain and age of the wooden deck were the likely cause.
