The jury in the trial of a man accused of murdering Sydney nurse Michelle Beets has been discharged.
New South Wales Supreme Court Judge Derek Price made the decision a short time ago for legal reasons.
The jury of seven woman and five men had heard six days of evidence against the accused, Walter Marsh.
The former United States marine, who turned 51 today, has pleaded not guilty to killing his former boss outside her Chatswood home, in Sydney’s north, in April last year.
Ms Beets had her throat cut and was stabbed eight times.
It is expected a new jury will be empanelled on Friday.
