In a recent Penny Stock Detectives article, editor Sasha Cekerevac states his belief that with the large number of trucks in the world, companies that can decrease pollution, thereby increasing green energy initiatives, should be able to generate additional corporate profits. Cekerevac notes that there are so many other viable alternatives for firms to generate corporate profits in this industry.

While it would be nice to think of eliminating both heavy- and light-duty vehicles on the road, this is unrealistic over the short term, comments Cekerevac. By helping reduce carbon emissions through green energy products, firms can meet increasingly tough emission standards.

“One such green energy company is Clean Diesel Technologies,” says Cekerevac. “This firm has green energy products that can help reduce diesel emissions from trucks and lower the carbon outputs of such vehicles… The company has several divisions, including a heavy-duty diesel division, as well as a catalyst department for gasoline, diesel, and natural gas engines.”

Cekerevac notes that for the first quarter, ending March 31, 2012, the company reported revenue growth of 23.3% from the previous year to a total of $17.0 million. While the company is not generating corporate profits yet, including a pretax inventory write-down in the current quarter, revenue figures growing at this pace are extremely encouraging, according to the Penny Stock Detectives editor. The heavy-duty diesel division is a strong driver for the company, he states, as many large firms are addressing their green energy needs by adding products similar to Clean Diesel’s.

As Cekerevac reports, the company’s CEO believes that the company is well-positioned through its heavy-duty diesel division to grow revenue and corporate profits over the next several years in the green energy market, since companies and governments need to retrofit their vehicles to meet mandatory compliance regulations. This includes sales of over $2.0 million to the California Truck and Bus Regulation program, he explains, noting the company expects additional orders from states such as Texas, New York, and New Jersey.

The company’s chart does show weakness this year, as the lack of corporate profits is most likely weighing on investor sentiment, observes Cekerevac.

He argues, “With the growing revenue from both states and companies looking to add green energy products, the length of time before corporate profits begin accruing might be shorter than some analysts believe.

Cekerevac would still like to see future quarterly earnings reports to ensure that growth revenues continue at the pace they are currently; this would help visibility in calculating when corporate profits will be positive, he says. Once this occurs, Cekerevac believes the stock will rise substantially.
