Blind woman attacked for medication in WA

West Australian police are investigating an attack on a blind Perth woman who seems to have been targeted for her medication.

Police said the 49-year-old woman was assaulted sometime after 10.30pm WST on Friday at her home in the eastern suburb of Ashfield.

A woman had knocked on her door asking for help and when she opened the door to assist, two men barged in.

They bashed the victim unconscious and stole medication and cash.

The assault comes less than a week after a brutal assault on a deaf man at the Carlisle train station in the city’s southeast that left the victim with a fractured eye socket.
