AUTHORITIES have picked up another boatload of suspected asylum seekers inside Australian waters.
HMAS Glenelg intercepted the vessel north-west of Christmas Island last night.
It’s believed there were 68 people on board the boat, which was initially detected by a customs surveillance aircraft.
“Border Protection Command will now make arrangements for the passengers to be transferred to Christmas Island where they will undergo initial security, health and identity checks,” Home Affairs Minister Jason Clare said in a statement today.
