President Barack Obama delivered a prime-time address to the nation to reassure Americans that he takes the threat of terrorism seriously claiming, “For seven years, I’ve confronted this evolving threat each morning in my intelligence briefing.”
Unfortunately, that was a flat out lie.
The Government Accountability Institute (GAI) has shown that Obama actually skips more than half of his daily intelligence briefings, Breitbart reports.
In 2012, just before the Benghazi attacks, the GAI released a study covering Obama’s Presidential Daily Brief (PDB) attendance from January 2009 through mid-June 2012. It found that “During his first 1,225 days in office, Obama attended his PDB just 536 times–or 43.8 percent of the time.
During 2011 and the first half of 2012, his attendance became even less frequent–falling to just over 38 percent. By contrast, Obama’s predecessor, George W. Bush almost never missed his daily intelligence meeting.”
The 2014 report shows the same pattern with Obama’s attendance record averaging around 44%.
Obama missed roughly 56% of the Presidential Daily Briefings and we are supposed to be reassured that he’s on top of the terrorist problem? Obviously the PDB’s contained vital information regarding the rise and expansion of ISIS as well as possible terrorist attacks being planned by these radicalized Muslims.
Conservative Tribune reports that the administration has laughably claimed that Obama doesn’t necessarily have to attend the daily briefings in person, as he receives the information on his iPad.
However, reading a few short summations on an iPad is not an acceptable replacement for personally hearing a detailed intelligence report, where one can engage in questions and answers.
President Obama blatantly lied during his prime-time speech, as he has attended less than half of the daily intelligence briefings he now claims to rely upon to take the threat of terrorism seriously.
Unbelievable.
