Back in December 2014 President Barack Obama declared the war in Afghanistan over and of course the liberals drooled all over themselves in awe of their peace keeping messiah. Of course, calling off all U.S. and NATO combat operations has proven to be a MAJOR mistake.
Obama makes a LOT of mistakes.
When he scoffed at Romney for saying that Russia is one of the biggest threats we are facing he was wrong. Liberals loved that. They called us all crazy. Look at Russia now.
Obama laughingly dismissed ISIS as “the JV team.” That was obviously a MAJOR mistake.
Obama claimed that ISIS was “contained” just hours before the Muslim terrorist group slaughtered 130 innocent people in Paris.
All of these absurd assertions are patently false, and now a TOP U.S. GENERAL has issued an extremely serious warning that proves Obama is screwing up.
The number of Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL) supporters in Afghanistan who have expressed a desire to attack the United States is growing, warned Gen. John Campbell, the top commander of American and NATO forces in the country, according to Breitbart.
“They don’t have the capability right now to attack Europe, or attack the homeland, the United States, but that’s what they want to do, they’ve said that’s what they want to do,” acknowledged Campbell, referring to ISIS loyalists in Afghanistan, in an interview with the Associated Press.
The warning comes less than a year after ISIS announced the establishment of its Khorasan province in January. Khorasan is a historic name for a region that covers large areas of Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran, parts of India, and other surrounding countries.
A new Pentagon report and Rep. Robert Pittenger (R-NC), chairman of the Congressional Task Force on Terrorism and Unconventional Warfare, echoed Campbell’s warning that ISIS is proliferating in Afghanistan.
“It’s definitely growing,” Pittenger said, referring to ISIS in Afghanistan. “It started out as a small colony, down in the southeastern border [with Pakistan], but they’re definitely growing in the region.”
“Their presence poses a threat to the United States,” he added. “They’re clearly focused on attacking U.S. interests. It’s a very conflicted and very challenging situation.”
Gen. Campbell said that the number of ISIS loyalists in Afghanistan is growing.
The commander also declared that ISIS supporters want to assimilate Afghanistan into the Khorasan province of its “caliphate.”
ISIS wants to establish “the base of the Khorasan province” in Jalalabad, the provincial capital of Nangarhar province in eastern Afghanistan, along the Pakistan border, and “work their way up into Kunar” province immediately north, Campbell said.
Campbell also revealed that “foreign fighters” from Syria and Iraq have linked up with Afghans who have declared loyalty to the group in Nangarhar, adding that there are “indications” that ISIS is trying to consolidate ties with the group’s leadership in Syria and Iraq.
Conservative Tribune adds that all of this comes as violence has increased recently in the war-torn country, with the resurgent Taliban and other groups feeling emboldened after Obama withdrew most U.S. forces and transitioned those remaining from engaging in combat to merely providing training and assistance to Afghan national forces.
However, despite the many years of training and untold millions that have been spent to raise an Afghan army and police force, they nevertheless lack the capabilities to effectively fight and defend their own country.
“I think if we left, it would all collapse — No different than what happened in Iraq,” Pittenger ominously proclaimed.
Obama told us that the war in Afghanistan was over and the Islamic State group was contained within Iraq and Syria. Both of those assertions have been proven false, and the growth of a new radical jihadist threat in the region is just further evidence of the utter failure of Obama’s foreign policy.
So, while Obama tells America that everything is under control, we all know what’s REALLY going on.
