PANAMA, Panama – A Canadian fugitive with alleged ties to the Hells Angels and wanted for murder has reportedly been arrested in Panama.
Local media in Panama report authorities apprehended Quebecer Michel Smith on Friday in the Playa Coronado tourist region.
Canadian police have been looking for the 49-year-old man since a massive 2009 sweep in Quebec known as SharQc Operation.
The RCMP website says Smith, who uses the alias Mike, is a member of the Hells Angels‘ South Chapter.
Smith is wanted by the RCMP on multiple charges including murder, gangsterism, drug trafficking and conspiracy.
Panamanian media are reporting Smith could be deported to Canada in the coming days.
