This morning, the charge d’affaires at the Libyan embassy in London, Mahmud Nacua, suggested Gaddafi may have escaped to a farm on the outskirts of the capital, where he was known to have visited friends in the past.

His claim was given some credence by what sounded like chickens squawking in the background of Gaddafi’s audio message. At one point his voice is almost drowned out by what sounds like a jet plane flying overhead.

Nato planes continue to patrol the skies above Libya, running bombing raids but also flying reconnaissance missions as they scour the ground for any sign of Gaddafi.

Tunnels from the Bab al-Aziziya compound are believed to run several kilometres under the city to both the Rixos Hotel and Mitiga Airport, in the east of the city.

  1. yes, Gadhafi turns NATO into chickens now. No way they will know where, when and how to attack. Gadhafi will keep the turn-table bouncing back and forth.
Full swing civil war sets in, especially after many Nation annouced that they will unfreeze frozen funds will add greed to the mess. This is going to get uglier than Iraq or Afghanistan.

  2. Next stop? “The Farm” at Langley, then the south of France and Venezuela.
