Network Managing Editor claims having well organized political support constitutes “gaming”

CNBC pulled an online poll 25 minutes after last night’s GOP debate, reasoning that “one candidate” was leading by a large margin – that candidate was, of course, Ron Paul.

As the following video shows, Ron Paul was ahead of the pack by a large margin, before the poll was unceremoniously pulled from the CNBC site altogether and replaced with a generic article titled “Who won the debate – Attendees weigh in”:

CNBC Managing Editor Allen Wastler issued the following statement explaining the reason the poll was removed:

Gamed Poll…So We Took It Down

We had a poll up from our Republican Presidential Debate asking readers who they thought won. One candidate was leading by such a margin that it became obvious the polling wasn’t so much a reading of our audience, but of the Internet prowess of this particular candidate’s political organization. We have therefore taken the poll down. Yes, we’ve gone through this exercise before.

Wastler included a link to a previous statement from 2007, where exactly the same thing happened.

In an “open letter to the Ron Paul faithful”, Wastler sardonically exclaimed “Congratulations. You folks are obviously well-organized and feel strongly about your candidate and I can’t help but admire that”

  • A d v e r t i s e m e n t
  • CNBC Cans Debate Poll Because Ron Paul Was Leading

“But you also ruined the purpose of the poll. It was no longer an honest “show of hands” — it suddenly was a platform for beating the Ron Paul drum.” Wastler added.

Of course, CNBC provides no actual proof that the latest poll was “gamed”.

Any serious online poll restricts voting to one per IP address. Waslter bemoans the fact that Paul’s online supporters came in droves to vote, yet he does not consider why supporters of the other candidates did not do the same.

Brandon Smith of Alt-Market has a great commentary piece on the pulled poll, wherein he points out that punishing Ron Paul and his supporters for being highly motivated is asinine:

“What margin of success does CNBC consider “realistic” for a presidential candidate?” Smith writes. “I mean, is it really necessary for you to punish Ron Paul for being a popular candidate, or to punish his supporters for being well organized and showing up for the vote? Do you not see the half-assed absurdity of your claim that Ron Paul won by “too much”?”

As we have previously documented, it seems that a poll is only deemed legitimate by the mainstream media if Ron Paul doesn’t win it. If Paul is successful, the poll is automatically considered null and void.

This is to be expected given the fact that there is an admitted media talking point to ignore Ron Paul’s campaign and try and write him off entirely.

The mainstream media sponsored debates are a prime example. A University of Minnesota study recently confirmed the fact that Ron Paul has been given the least time to speak OUT OF ALL THE CANDIDATES at the debates, despite national polls consistently proving he is a genuine top tier candidate.

When Paul is given the opportunity to speak, he is faced with questions that directly insinuate his ideas are practically insane.

As Jack Hunter points out, during last night’s CNBC debate, the station flashed up a graphic indicating that tuition prices have gone up nearly 500% since the inception of student loans and American student debt is now $1 trillion. The anchors then proceeded to grill Paul on his plans to phase out the Federal government’s involvement in student loans, as if he were crazy to suggest the system was failing!

Paul was even interrupted mid-speech by one anchor asking him “how are students going to pay for education”, to which the Congressman shot back “The same way you pay for computers and cell phones.”, explaining that having a market place with healthy competition will naturally bring costs down and improve quality.

Watch the video (specific section at 7 mins):

It is quite clear that Ron Paul is maintaining a top tier status IN SPITE OF the mainstream media’s best efforts to derail his campaign.

With the first caucuses impending, Paul campaign chairman Jesse Benton said Wednesday that the Congressman must finish in the top three in Iowa and New Hampshire in order to maintain a strong position:

“We need to do well in Iowa and New Hampshire, because it’s very important for perception,” Benton told POLITICO after the Michigan GOP debate. “It’s also important because the voters in those states are very adept and astute at evaluating candidates, so we need to be in the top three in those states, no question about it.”

He continued: “But we’re setting up organizations in caucus states across the country and we have a real plan to win the delegates necessary to be the Republican nominee. I don’t think anyone, outside of perhaps Mitt Romney, can say that.”

GOP leaders in Iowa share Benton’s view that Ron Paul is the only other candidate aside from Romney with a strong enough core of supporters to carry him through the caucuses.

But hey, according to CNBC and the rest of the mainstream media frothbots, having dedicated and organized supporters renders a candidate unworthy to be even considered for the nomination.

Jim Cramer is a screeching gambler used to making money gambling, not actually working or producing anything. He’s pissed to learn the casino is rigged. That reality is too harsh to face at his age bc he doesn’t want to start over earn $ a different way. His reputation is trashed too since people lost millions taking his advice.
He wants the Gov to regulate the wallstreet casino. He can’t face the fact that Eric Holder isn’t interested in justice.

  6. CNBC can take their news agency, programming and website and throw it all in the fire pit. It just shows you the manipulation from the main stream media but also the false left right paradigm in effect here. 14. GOD BLESS RON PAUL !!!

  15. The statement of the producer is very amusing.

I am curious if… RP was wining by say… 30% instead of what looks like 75% would they have still pulled the poll? And would the poll have been pulled for any other candidate?

Maybe Paul supporters should pick out one of the other candidates and vote for them… but impart that information that this was a test… first… and lets see if that candidate would be suppressed?

I wish Dr. Paul would take a little more time to answer the question… using less words in the same time period.

And what is a fraudulent stock manipulator who has been accused of shorting stocks depending on his stock messages on his program… doing on… a national debate of Presidential candidates where… stock manipulation and FED control is the only real issue? (Should shorting be outlawed? What use does it serve?)

Can you imagine these debates without Dr. Paul… what would they be talking about… likely how we need to support Israel if they Strike Iran. What a group of idiots except for the Good Doctor… .

Control the candidates allowed in… is the number one CFR/Banking Cartel ploy politically. Literally the CFR/Aspen Institute and other world gov. fascist think tanks… “Change Agents”… determine who we are allowed to vote for.

The Two Party system is dead as a viable USA political paradigm.

And yes if… the Republicans will not nominate RP… then the third party is the answer and yes the Libertarians have been infiltrated… they are for open boarders in functional reality and unlike Paul… too many are ivory tower intellectual ideologues.

Still there are many good people there but this new party should be based on Constitutional ideas… State rights, individual responsible, that is Liberty… the promotion of creativity is fundamental… and the tear down of the FED/CFR and debt free currency??, Education Department.. media cartel … the destruction of the Impirium generally… the re-erection of the boarders… drug legalization… and reinvestigation of 911 by a private group in 100% OPEN meetings… a large group… say 25 actual patriots not compromised… courageous and with lots of engineering PhDs .

And of course the destruction of WTO et al. I am not sure of RP position here?… I have come to beleive that some kind of import tax is now needed to make up for the lack of environment, employment law in China etc. . Our manufacturing base was fraudulently taken down GUTTED… on the alter of a world government goal… so it needs remediation, drastic action.

Cutting down on those very laws … as control mechanism in the USA are too needed desperately by creative business… and REAL environmental concerns put on the agenda like artificial hormones in food and the environment generally and AGW… revealed for what is was actually… a scam to back world taxation and to blow up sovereignty of nations and individuals.

We know Dr. Paul is serious and the others are shells… of men… placeholders for different racial groups and implanted… angers… etc. … .

I do wish that RP would outreach to poorer Blacks in this country… they are not without love of Liberty… but rather fearful as all dependent classes are of all races; the callus use of Blacks… is disgusting as a political piece and their “leaders,” generally traitors to their race. If RP could patiently speak with small groups one on one … no cameras… and explain the argument of Liberty… I think their superb sense of BS would understand his message and most would… like the man.

That was/is the job of the Black Caucus. They failed. What is disturbing is when you say what you did.

“Reach out”? Blacks get more today than most whites do. A white man without a job is not eligible in certain states to even get food stamps. You can thank “Affirmative Action” for the consensus of bullshit that it created.

Adding points to test scores for those who are “other than white” is another issue.

It isnt that the blacks have not had the same chances as whites, in spite of the leftist media bullshit you keep hearing, its that many have chosen anther route to take.

2 white men applied for a county job. They were denied that opportunity because they were told, and I quote, “You boys are the wrong shade of color and you have too much meat hanging”. This happened in 1979.

How do I know that? I was one of the 2 “white men” applying for the job. They wouldn’t even let us fill out the application. We were escorted to the door. We are “white and we are male”. Hence, we were not “qualified” due to the AA of that time to get a job. Did we have the skills?

Yes. Most of those applying never operated any type of heavy equipment. I was a 1/4 inch final grade blue top operator. Those in the field know what that is.

So, when it comes to matters of this nature, I have no “ears of sympathy” for those who continuously cry about just how bad blacks in the USA have it. I happen to be the “white man” that was denied food stamps as well. Boeing laid off 127k jobs. A billboard on Airport Way South next to the Seattle Boeing plant had a billboard that read, “Last one leaving Seattle, please turn out the lights”.

I never want to hear anyone “cry” about “race” issues in the USA. Why?! Because its all bullshit.

I and many others over the years have been denied, because of the fact that we are white men. We had no recourse. There is no “White Caucus”. Just a “black caucus”.

In the event that you are black, then take a lesson from a real black man at this site named mississippiblackman.

He agrees. Dont take my word for it. Ask him.

    reconscoutsniper Reply:

Are you a “fisherman”? “Presentation”, “Presentation”, “Presentation”.

First, every one has their own prejudices. Next, every one has their own experiences. Next every one is “unique” to everyone else.

ie: No two people are alike. And, not everyone is going to like what you say or who you are or represent. Right?

Im not a “racist”. Are there “blacks” I hate? Ya damn right. Are there “whites” I hate? Ya damn right. What do they share in common? They are all communists!!!

The point is that when delivering your message, it has to show your character and integrity. Do all messages show this? No.

This one does. Why? Because it is of a personal nature and is not necessarily directed at the race (ethnicity) issue as it is directed at TPTB who force us all to be on the defensive. Thats how they create division.

I have no more use for some white guy that decided to live within the, “share the wealth” thing, than I do for those who feel they should be entitled to something due to the color of their skin. Thats bullshit.

Both are equally worthless. Let them get out there and bust their asses like the rest of us had to. There is the “American Dream”. Some are more fortunate than others. Some are born with a silver spoon up their ass.

Some like me, started out with absolutely nothing. We had to “hump it”, so we did and there was no “safety net” below us either.

I speak in a plain fashion. I ask no quarter and give no quarter. For those who are in bad shape due to no fault of their own, Im willing to pitch in to help them. At the same time, the government has no right to dictate that I am going to pay for some one elses education, health care or groceries. I paid for my education. I worked my ass off. I took what ever job was offered and was damn thankful to have one when so many others were with out one. Ive stood in raw human waste at -3 degrees below zero turning a wrench to make ends meet. All I asked for, was the opportunity to work. I dont want or need any “hand outs” from the government.

The other thing is that not everyone has the same amount of hurdles to go over. Some have more than others. I look at some one sitting in a wheel chair without arms and legs down at the VA, and I say, “Thank you Lord”. It could just have easily been me sitting there. Do you understand this?

“Common sense” Thats what you need to apply. Just common sense. Im hard, but, Im fair.

Besides, Ive been called every name you can think of at this site and others. The one thing no one can ever dispute is that I state the “facts”….not bullshit or “opinions”. I dont live in a “fantasy world” with my head in the clouds. No one should.

I feel your pain. In a literal way I might add. Same thing happened to me in –1979–

When I followed up I was told the reason for allowing me through the entire employment process was for the prospective employer to have hard proof in hand. That info would be used as proof in a Court to prove that they really did have “QUALIFIED WHITE” applicants and hired the lesser qualified black applicant.

Same thing happened in the Navy. I’ll just say that I got along with most anybody I met. The Black Men at my command shunned the fool that threatened to yell racism. He had the nerve to approach me with his hand extended saying “still friends” I spit at the ground and said fu.

So folks, based on experience I conclude that most Black Men would not take advantage of these BS reverse discrimination promotions/jobs when they can see it in person happening to a Man they respect.

Just sickens me to rethink how my life was adversely affected by this shit. By that I mean I was going to make the Military a career only to get out and have the exact same thing happen again in the Private sector.

This is one of the main reasons I became self employed. Sink or swim on your own Merit.

  17. So every candidate has one thing in common. they all want to pay off the ransom to the Federal Reserve Bankers. My solution is for nobody to pay off any ot this unlawfull debt. Everyone keep their house, car, whatever all student loans forgiven, a new debt free economy where the only losers are the Bankers. To operate the industry of banking using the infrastructure already in place, Nationalize the Federal Reserve Banks, build a new econlmy based on the new version of colonial script a sovergn economy not affiliated with or dependant on the world economy.

  18. Ron Paul’s debate performance yesterday was a Tour De Force. He made Maria Bartiromo look look like a third grader trying to argue with the teacher. The only person you actually really learn anything from in any of these debates is Ron Paul.

Top highlight yesterday: when the other candidates were all discussing their tax reforms; flat taxes, the 999 taxes, tax code reforms etc. Ron Paul told them, and Maria, they are all talking about the ‘SYMPTOM’ and the ‘CONSEQUENCE’ of the over-spending and then he tells you precisely what is at the core of the overspending. That .. is the FED. The FED printing as much money as it wishes so government can always forever and forever borrow and borrow to spend and spend and spend. No tax reform will fix that problem. Maria, blinks her large eyes, remains quiet.

Also, what did we learn yesterday. The FEDERAL RESERVE essentially is an institution that primarily has this one single function: ROB PETER TO PAY PAUL .. essentially that is what they do. They are PRICE FIXERS and when you do that .. fix prices .. you are robbing Peter to pay Paul. You are not allowing the market to determine interest rates, you are artificially setting them up yourself. Result — you benefit some AT THE EXPENSE OF OTHERS. Thank you Ron Paul. Now I got it!

(also I might also add ‘Peter’ appears usually to be the American Taxpayer!)

    I second the vote:
As far as the Federal Reserve goes, the only simple solution is to abolish the fed reserve and cancel all payments due. In order to save the world it must be done. We tried the bankster way and look at us all now. Awful Fact: Whoever controls the money controls the country/world. Too many people are dying at the bloody hands of the banksters. Same thing goes for the Bank of England and company. Cancel all debt owed to them and let civilization flourish. No national banks, period

Sorry banksters, but we need to save the world from a bankster induced collapse, and since you caused it, you are liable for it. Have a nice day.

Who is the ‘president’ of the federal reserve? Beware if the federal reserve is canceled, ‘they’ might use the crisis to install a global script and just think how fun that will be.

They all need to be strictly monitored the whole time and the reason why a runaway federal govt cant be trusted is the complete lack of accountability and oversight.all memebers of the three houses and all the rest of them need to be very strictly vetted before being allowed to take up official positions.

All of this needs to be done independently by the people as after all they work for us.There needs to be complete role reversal as they have literally been taking liberties for far too long.

According to Article 1 section eight of our constitution, this is exactly as our founders envisioned it. Giving congress the power of the purse was their fail safe for keeping our monetary system out of the hands of a central bank. They however, never envisioned our congress as being anything but moral men. It is the responsibility of we, the people to ensure that our elected represenatives are of high moral standard and beyond reproch. Unfortunatle, this is not the level of standard we have demanded. Remember the words of Ben Franklin when asked what form of government the founders had given us? “A republic, if you can keep it”. Well we havent done to well at keeping it, but we can begin to take it back through “peaceful” reveloution. We must elect men of moral and ethecial principal and hold them to this standard. No better place to start then the top. We can still do something, its not too late. Ron Paul, President 2012.

  21. Actually according to the tremendous amount of applause Paul received during his responses the poll results did reflect the vibe of the audience……total fraud here

  22. O course they pulled it..!!!We can’t have the ONLY viable candidate in the LEAD!!!!
I heard CBS report on a poll that Ron Paul won and they report on the 2nd and 3rd place winner and no mention of Ron Paul…I can;t tell you how many times that happened……
The whore media is dead and dying more every day and THEIR BOUGHT AND PAID FOR BY THE SCUM THAT THINK THEY ARE ELITES OF THIS WORLD!!!!!!

  23. WHAT CHANCE does truth and justice have. This country is in the hands and power of Satan. Sick and twisted

  24. This is one of the best RP debates I ve seen. All of his responses were spot on, clear, and understandable to the average person. There’s no way that percent of victory could only be from the hard core RP supporters. If I were an objective viewer watching the debate who is hungry for reality it was clear who the real winner is… the one who wants to stop the bleeding and thievery from the source of evil.
RP s ‘educational’ program is going well; more are waking up; and the thieves and their pawns are freaking out, as the d’elite (delete the elite) need to work in darkness, obscurity just as any thief does.
Ron Paul comes in on national tv with a big lamp shining it on the thieves. fantastic.

You’re right, christmas. His responses WERE all understandable to the average person. Unfortunately, Liberals, Progressives, and the MSM are so stupid that they are way below the average person’s intelligence. In fact, they don’t have a brain, just a big mouth, and no balls.

  25. You got it, bring the corporate costs down and everyone will have a chance to succeed !
