An off-duty deputy recently shot a man after catching him in the act of… how should I say: coitus, in a subdivision pool. The cop eventually shot the man after confronting a couple engaged in sex in the Boca Raton, Florida community pool.
According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s official statements on the matter, the deputy walked into the pool area of the complex where he also lives. It was sometime just after midnight on Saturday. The officer found the couple, and asked them to leave the premises.
The couple left, but returned later. The male victim then supposedly approached the deputy while he was sitting in a lounge chair in the area, which he no more supposed to be sitting in at that hour, than the other couple was supposed to be in the pool (in any capacity). The deputy claims that the man “hovered over” him in a “threatening” way. The result? The cop ended up shooting the man.
The deputy claims that the two then got in a fight, and when the officer started apparently losing, he shot the man.
The victim has been hospitalized in currently in critical condition.
The deputy has not been fired, nor reprimanded, but is on paid administrative leave, which is standard procedure, not a punishment.
