A fire at a Decatur, Georgia apartment complex broke out on Thursday. Several were injured, but when a 1-month-old baby was thrown out of a second story window, the result could have been fatal.
The baby, as it turns out, is fine, thanks to one young girl’s heroic actions.
Witnesses say that a grease fire erupted in an apartment unit’s kitchen. Once the fire got too big for the baby’s mother to take her through, the mother went to the window, looking for someone to throw her baby too. That’s when young Zna Gresham sprung into action.
“When I was coming out, I saw our neighbor from the upper floor. She was dropping her baby and I had caught one of them,” Gresham explained. “I was kind of scared, and then I felt kind of happy.”
While several were injured, it appears that the baby is fine. All of the injured are expected to recover.
