A large number of police officers in riot gear made dozens of arrests as they broke up the Occupy Denver protest in a park outside the Capitol building in downtown Denver Friday morning.

Denver police spokesman Sonny Jackson says at least 24 people were arrested. The Colorado State Patrol says many face charges related to criminal misconduct.

There were a few brief moments of pushing and shoving between protesters and police, but things remained relatively calm and there were no injuries.

Just LOOK at the garb the “police” are wearing in the local news video clip. They are dressed up like Darth Vader and his minions. They are facing off against unarmed plain clothed pedestrians.

These are what I call “coward suits.” The reason that I call them coward suits is because the men who wear them are cowards.

The reason that I know they are cowards is because Michael Badnarik, Presidential Libertarian candidate for 2004, when he attempted to cross a similar police line to rightfully enter the building to take part in the nationally televised Presidential debates for that election, was stopped by a phalanx of them and had this to say about that incident:

Badnarik says that as one of them thrust out toward him with a shield and this “police officer” realized that he had stepped out of his phalanx and was alone, that a look of terror came to that man’s face. Badnarik looked this man in the eye and smiled as Badnarik realized that the man was nothing but a coward.

It will be interesting to see what men in similar Darth Vader get-ups will do if they are ever confronted by armed and angry Americans.

I live in Littleton, CO and never see state patrol anywhere other than the highways. What were they doing there? Not enought DPD backup?
What these articles don’t tell you is that they are breaking up the protest because months ago, navy vets got a permit for the park to celebrate the navy’s birthday. The protestors are free to move to another location or continue afterwards, and many had already started moving when given the news. It was not politically motivated on the part of the police or city of Denver, simply previous plans for the use of the park.
