A FORMER reality TV contestant, who stabbed his ex-girlfriend until she got the knife from him by promising they could have a “Romeo and Juliet” double death, has admitted trying to murder her.
Police found a handwritten note at the scene of the attack saying: “You know I love you, but I hate you because I could never replace you”.
Joel Betts, 32, pleaded guilty yesterday to wounding Samantha Holland with intent to murder, and to aggravated detain for advantage.
Ms Holland, then 24, was repeatedly stabbed in April 2010, at the unit they once shared in inner Sydney.
Betts, described in court papers as self-employed in marketing, was once a contestant on the reality TV show Australian Survivor and a presenter for Foxtel.
He has a sentencing hearing on April 27.
