The Google engineer behind the collection of wireless data by Street View cars told at least two colleagues – including a senior manager – about the controversial plans before it was released, a US regulator has found.
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) said in a report that the Google engineer told colleagues in 2007 that his Street View programme could collect private information including emails and text messages.
In a report published by Google on Sunday, the FCC said that five engineers were involved in implementing the Street View code but did not realise it could collect so-called payload data.
The engineer specifically told two colleagues, including a senior manager, that it was designed to collect this information in 2007 and again in 2008.

yea , thats the way i see it , cia or another faceless alphabet organization.
There has been much public discussion concerning the buisness of government, how it operates, it’s goals,the schedule of major policy initiatives; all this can be very time consuming and frustrating and tends to sour the individual on government. I hope that my many years in the study of political science can serve to clarify all this nonsense for those who dont have the time to invest in political studies. The function of government is to kill people, it operates or pursues this goal by killing people in order that their might be more dead people which is in accordance with their policy of killing people. I hope this helps to clarify things…and you thought government wasn’t working.
Clearly a lot of folks are upset about this google spying. But I am also upset about the information disclosed by the British about the Murdoch families spying and publicizing people’s personal information. THIS IS HORRIBLE and those responsible should be in jail. The fact that Google is also spying and likely spying for the CIA has little to do with the Murdoch’s criminal acts. And if Infowars wants to really cover the news, then they would be covering that story.
I just heard Alex saying that the big deal is Google spying and ‘everybody’ does spying like the Mordoch’s did. Get this straight Alex; Fox, Murdoch, and Roger Ailes are very bad! Ailes has a big time history of political dirty tricks and he puts Karl Rove on the air. Fox does not have to be treatened or bribed to be part of the cabal that covers the evil doing of Barry Soetoro. Just watch the group of vultures that Fox puts on Sunday morning, if you want to see evil. You folks are correct in saying that GE and their networks are the left wing of evil, but Fox is evil’s right wing. And every bit as bad. Quit excusing their criminal behavior!
Meanwhile, CNN and the other networks are covering the obscene worshiping of power that is the Presidential correspondents dinner. Where our mainstream media shows it’s true colors as a captive arm of the government, by going to worship the President as he tell jokes that are often in poor taste. This year they also featured an ‘A’ list of disgusting Hollywood figures, along with the worthless press-titutes that are always in attendance.

You don’t just get corporate funding for an inhouse project unless it has been approved at the executive level. There are always safeguards to make sure that any venture is not duplicating the efforts of another group. Then you would have to get purchase approval for every car, camera system and wi-fi scanning system.
I’ve worked with the software tools used to do code reviews – they are called source code control systems, with names like CVS subversion . The most important aspects of these tools is that they log the slightest change in a file down to the addition of a single space or tab character.
Other tools allow other team members to approve every single change before they are integrated into the standard software setup. Programs like ccollab.
To collect a list of IP addresses and router ID names and numbers, it would be quicker just grabbing all the data and sifting through it later.
