Funzio Brings Android Gamers into the Mob Life with Crime City

Funzio, the leading developer of midcore games for social and mobile
platforms, today released Crime City for Android devices. For the
first time in a mobile social action game, Funzio has created a true
cross-platform mobile experience, allowing iOS and Android Crime City
gamers to both team up in cooperative play and battle in competitive
play for gangland dominance. Crime City can now be found on
Google Play, formerly known as Android Market, and is free to download,
joining the existing versions on the iTunes App Store, Facebook, and
Google+.

“With the Android version of Crime City, we are now on every
major social and mobile platform with the game, allowing our audience to
connect and play,” said Kenneth Chiu, Chief Executive Officer and
co-founder, Funzio. “Crime City is leading the way in truly
cross-platform mobile social action games, a unique aspect of the game
experience that Funzio is dedicated to bringing to our players.”

Crime City challenges players to become the top mob boss in their
city by building up their hoods, inviting friends to be part of their
gang and collecting hundreds of items to battle for dominance. Crime
City
has been built from the ground up as a native Android app in
order to make full use of the tech features of the platform. Multiplayer
battle and friend lists for the multiplayer portion of the game are
hosted on Funzio’s own servers, so players can connect to their mobile Crime
City
friends on either iOS or Android, drawing upon an even larger
group of potential allies and victims.

Crime City was first launched on Facebook in September 2010,
where it quickly became one of the top five Facebook games of the year.
In August 2011, the game was selected by Google as one of the first ten
titles to launch on Google+. Crime City also came out on Apple
iOS in August 2011, hit #1 on the Top Free chart on the iTunes App
Store, and has been in the Top Grossing chart since then.
