In a recent Penny Stock Detectives article, editor Danny Esposito points out that there has certainly been a concerted effort around the globe on green energy initiatives in an attempt to reduce the environmental impact of carbon emissions. Esposito notes one of the green energy areas that have garnered a lot of investor interest is wind energy.

“General Electric Company has received an order for 10 of its wind turbines from Triventus Wind Power of Sweden,” observes Esposito. “Triventus is going to use these turbines to build out a wind farm project on Sweden’s west coast. Scheduled to be in operation by the middle of 2013, this green energy initiative should be able to supply enough power to 7,500 homes in Sweden.”

In Norway, the company Nordex received an order for 23 wind turbines to extend a phase-two project development in Norway, outlines Esposito.

Esposito further reports that in Belgium, the company Northwind has received orders for 72 of its wind turbines to help construct a large wind farm in the country.

In Toronto, Canada, Esposito notes a multi-billion-dollar green energy initiative will see China’s energy giant, China Longyuan Power Group Corporation, supply Toronto with dozens of industrial wind turbines.

Esposito says the U.S. just completed an environmental review on its proposed 3,000-megawatt wind project. If approved, this would be the largest green energy wind project in the U.S., with the capability of supplying electricity to one million homes, he states.

The U.K. government recently highlighted wind energy as an area for expansion in order to meet its green energy targets for 2020, reports Esposito.

The Penny Stock Detectives editor asserts that for each of these planned initiatives, the company that won the contract will see investor sentiment push the stock higher.

Wind energy has caught on globally, as countries around the world jump on the green energy bandwagon,” concludes Esposito. “Investor sentiment is positive on the companies that build out these wind farms, because they have the backing of government subsidies, in most cases. Investors would do well to explore this energy alternative.”
