Travel site announced on Thursday the seamless design of its updated app. Users can now easily plan, share and book travel through the app on their .

The Gogobot site was already very useful, with a travel planner, passport section to share past experiences with others and section to post travel-related questions to the public as well as book trips. The app, however, wasn’t quite as helpful. It was lacking some of the major tools the site had.

Document your mode of transportation — from train, plane, car, bicycle, motorcycle and by foot. The app also categorizes all your old check-ins and reviews into the “City Guides,” section, so you can keep track of the places you visit. And if you have friends traveling to a city you’ve already been to, you can send them your travel itinerary.

Gogobot also boasts other new features of its latest app update:

  • Way more to explore: discover hotels, cafes, spas, bars, shopping, classes, restaurants, things to do and more things that are either nearby or in another city.
  • Personalized and popular: Check out your friends’ reviews, guides, check-ins., etc., or look at what the other registered users are listing.
  • Instant gratification: Book hotels directly from the app via Booking.com

For the mobile version, Gogobot has partnered exclusively with Booking.com, but might expand its booking partners in the future to give users more selection, Travis Katz, CEO of Gogobot, tells Mashable. Katz said they like the way Booking.com offers a seamless mobile experience, which is what Gogobot wants for its updated app, too.

The feed has also been redesigned to work more seamlessly on mobile. The new “Explore” tab finds local hotspots recommended by friends and other Gogobot members.

In May, Gogobot’s user base surpassed one million members, and since that time the user base has more than doubled again. Most recently, Gogobot has become the second most popular travel site behind TripAdvisor.
