The Jerusalem District Court sentenced the haredi Jew Simcha Kaikov, 44, to 13 years in prison for raping an eight-year-old girl. Kaikov, a father of five, encountered the girl in 2008 on the street, used his haredi appearance to gain the girl’s trust and raped her in her building’s bomb shelter. The judges noted in the sentence that the actions were premeditated.
