Harley-Davidson deal win spurs Infosys to open new US delivery centre

Infosys is bolstering its US operations after taking on more work for motorbike manufacturer Harley-Davidson.

The Indian outsourcer announced on Tuesday that it is to open a new delivery centre in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to provide consulting and systems integration services, as well as training facilities.

The decision to locate the centre in the Midwest was taken after the company last week won a five-year deal with Harley-Davidson to provide technology services including applications management, data-network engineering, datacentre operations and hosting services.

The centre will house 125 workers initially, including some who will move over from Harley-Davidson, but is expected to be expanded in the near future.

Infosys has hired more than 1,000 workers in the US so far this year, and it has over 16,000 employees in the US at both Infosys and client locations. The Indian company and its subsidiaries have more than 150,000 staff worldwide.

The centre, Infosys’s 18th in the country, is expected to go live this year.
