Accused hoax bomber Paul Peters will remain in custody for almost two months after choosing not to apply for bail at a court hearing in Sydney.
Peters, 50, was expected to appear in Parramatta Bail Court today via videolink from the Sydney Police Centre.
But after seeking the advice of Peters’ counsel, magistrate Paul Lyon said he did not require his presence.

Prosecutor Fiona Rowbotham said a brief of police facts in the case will be served by November 5 and Peters will appear at Central Local Court on November 17.
Neither Ms Rowbotham or Peters’ lawyers would comment outside court.
Peters arrived under guard in Sydney on a Qantas A380 from Los Angeles shortly before 7am today.
Detectives formally charged him this morning at the Sydney Police Centre.
Peters was apprehended for allegedly terrorising Ms Pulver by strapping a fake collar bomb to her in the family’s Mosman mansion on Sydney’s north shore on August 3.
He has been charged with kidnapping, special aggravated break enter and commit serious indictable offence, and demand property with intent to steal.
