Hudson Valley Clean Energy and Adirondack Solar Complete Merger to Create Hudson Solar

Hudson Solar unveils a residential solar leasing program through SunPower® making solar energy affordable for the everyday homeowner

Albany, New York (PRWEB) April 03, 2012

Two New York-based leading solar companies, Adirondack Solar and Hudson Valley Clean Energy have merged today and created Hudson Solar, the company’s new brand for its Capital Region and Hudson Valley customers, additionally expanding its service area into Western Massachusetts, Western Connecticut and Southern Vermont.

The combined companies have installed more than 1,000 systems throughout the state of New York. Hudson Solar will continue as a full-service solar electric provider specializing in the development, design, installation and servicing of these renewable energy systems. Hudson Solar serves the residential and commercial markets as well as non-profit and government installations.

“This merger continues our excellent service under one brand geared toward revolutionizing the solar industry. We are dedicated to providing the most affordable and technologically advanced systems to our homeowners and local businesses,” said John Wright, vice president of Hudson Solar. “As solar continues to make its way mainstream, we believe this new merger will allow us to break into new markets. The two companies have been growing steadily for several years while actively creating new jobs and opportunities for local professionals businesses.”

Additionally, Hudson Solar will be the premiere distributor of the SunPower Lease solution that allows residential homeowners the ability to install a solar system with no up-front costs. The program provides homeowners with the flexibility of partial or full repayment plans, tailored monthly payments as well as the option to purchase and own the system. This allows homeowners to stay at their current utility costs or below, locking in their rate for the next 20 years.

“As America’s oldest winery, we understand the importance of preserving our natural resources and that’s why we chose to install a solar electric system with Hudson solar,” said Hernan Donoso, president of Brotherhood Winery. “We’ve already generated 38 percent of our electrical usage in the past year alone and only expect to further benefit from this investment.”

The companies behind the merger recently were awarded major industry accolades. In February, the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority’s (NYSERDA) “Excellence in Quality” award in the PV program went to Hudson Valley Clean Energy for achieving the highest overall Quality Assurance inspection score. The Hudson Solar headquarters is also the first and only zero-net energy, carbon-free commercial building in New York State and the entire Northeast.
