IKCO received the award of ‘Excellence’ for its efforts and persistency in quality and business excellence.

Aramco and Telecom from Saudi Arabia, Dubai Islamic bank, Qatar Petroleum and State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic were also honored at the second round of Muslim Excellence and Competitiveness Corporations’ Award (MECCAward) meeting held on April 9, 2012.

Founded in 1962, IKCO is currently regarded as the biggest automaker in the Middle East.

The company won an award from Tehran’s Third International Nanotechnology Festival in 2010, as the leading company in nano-related auto industry.

In its five-year future growth prospective, the company envisions an annual manufacturing capacity of three million units, with exports of a million units per year.

MECCAward evaluates companies based on customer services, leadership, process approach, system approach to management, continual improvement and factual approach to decision making.

The first seminar of Muslim Excellence Corporations was held by Iran in August 2007 in an attempt to create convergence and necessary commitments among the participants and improved their rate and award criteria.
