Israeli court prevents family visit for hunger-striker

Days of Palestine, West Bank -Israeli occupation court refused on Monday to allow family members of Palestinian hunger-striking journalist to visit him while dying in hospital.

Palestinian hunger-striking journalist Mohamed al-Qeeq has been on hunger-strike for 90 days and he is suffering very critical health condition.

Lawyer Iyad Misk said that the Israeli court claimed that Al-Qeeq’s wife and brothers were “dangerous to Israeli security; therefore, they were prevented from entering the Israeli hospital.”

The the hunger-striking journalist at the Israeli HaEmek Hospital in Afula is almost dying, according to Israeli and Palestinian doctors.

Early this month, the Israeli High Court permitted Al-Qeeq’s family to visit him. The director of the Israeli hospital also supported and recommended allowing family visits.
