Kickstart The World’s Largest Mobile Art Gallery

Art on Track is a yearly event where a six-car CTA train is converted into a mobile art gallery that circles the ‘Loop’ in Chicago. The cars are handed over for free to different local artists (or art groups) to curate.

It gives artists a unique location to display their art-ranging from paintings to performance art-and the public an opportunity to experience and interact with the art and artists in a setting that otherwise wouldn’t be possible.

What the Art on Track Video

Art on Track was started in 2008 by group of students from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Since then it has become an important venue for emerging artists to exhibit alongside established artists.

While the train cars are given for free to the artists, there are many costs associated with putting on Art on Track. The organizer is currently running a Kickstarter campaign to cover the costs of renting the six-car train from the CTA, and publicizing the event and artists.

If you would like to fund Art on Track the lowest pledge level will get you a ticket to ride the Art on Track train this year. At the highest pledge level the Art on Track train will pick you and your friends up from any ‘L’ stop of your choice!
