JPost – Rabbi Yosef Shalom Elyashiv, the leading rabbi of the Ashkenazi haredi community, died Wednesday afternoon in Jerusalem at the age of 102.
He died in Shaarei Zedek Medical Center.
He was one of the leading forces behind the formation of the haredi political parties.
