THE man accused of strapping a fake collar bomb to the neck of schoolgirl Madeleine Pulver is back in Sydney today.

Paul Douglas Peters, 50, touched down this morning after a lengthy extradition flight from Kentucky, in the US, via Los Angeles, The Daily Telegraph reported.

Dressed like a stately gentleman in chinos, a crisp shirt and a navy blazer, and escorted by two NSW detectives, Peters boarded the Qantas flight late on Thursday, US time, and was expected to touch down in Sydney about 6.30am today.

Peters has spent five weeks in Oldham County Jail after being arrested in Louisville.

A NSW Police spokesman said Peters will face Parramatta bail court today, charged with kidnapping, demanding property by force with intent to steal and aggravated break and enter.
