Man, 64, falls 4m, neighbour, 69, charged

A Sydney man faces charges after allegedly pushing his neighbour off a second-floor balcony.

About 3.40pm (AEST) on Wednesday, an argument broke out between a 69-year-old and his 64-year-old neighbour in a unit in Petersham, in Sydney’s inner west, police say.

The older man allegedly pushed the 64-year-old four metres to the ground from the balcony.

Police and paramedics arrived to find him with broken ribs and shoulder injuries. He was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for treatment.

The 69-year-old was charged with common assault and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

He was refused bail and is due to appear in Newtown Local Court on Thursday.
