A man who tried to torch his house is in an induced coma after suffering severe burns to his head and hands, police say.
The 55-year-old man poured fuel through his house in Chester Hill in Sydney’s west after a domestic dispute with his girlfriend on Wednesday afternoon.
After igniting it, he was badly burnt.
The house was gutted by the fire but his 41-year-old partner escaped uninjured.
The man has been taken to the burns unit at Concord Hospital.
