More Slaves Today Than Ever Before In History

You would assume that – as messed up as things may be today – at least there is not widespread slavery, as in ancient Egypt or the American south.

But as Time Magazine noted last year:

Despite more than a dozen international conventions banning slavery in the past 150 years, there are more slaves today than at any point in human history. Slaves are those forced to perform services for no pay beyond subsistence and for the profit of others who hold them through fraud and violence. While most are held in debt bondage in the poorest regions of South Asia, some are trafficked in the midst of thriving development.

To help fight slavery, read this and – more importantly – get involved here.

And given that there are some who would like to put all of us in debt peonage, we should stand up for freedom and justice whenever and wherever you can.

  1. If you carry debt in any form, you are a slave.

  2. Just what I’ve been telling people for the last 30 years.Slavery was never really abolished in the USA,it was just reformed to include all cultures unknowingly. None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they’re free…J.W.Von Goethe.

  3. Don’t forget prisoners in jail as a source of slaves. If they are forced to work then they are slaves.

  4. Slavery is every where in America, where you are given a printed paper from the bank ( the Note) which does not say what is the content of the Note , as in Promissory Note. Your dollar bill -or 5 or 10 or 20 or 50 or 100- has this on it “Federal Reserve Note”, which is a fraud against you, the wager. The Bank has 100 % monopoly over the printed money values and its total number, OUT SIDE of your “sovereign USA”. All of Americans are the new breed of slaves to the bank. This is not the old fashion slavery, which used to be of the “Black People”. FDR the great American president confiscated gold from the public, in favor of the bank, then established the great social security, in which the American worker will pay 12.5 $ of his labor as tax to be stolen later and never seen again. The American worker is labeled as not trust worthy of his own labor money, as dumb person, so he pays the new tax, before he eats. Slave labor is still alive as Karl Marx said it , once.

  5. I clicked on ‘read this’, and as soon as I read democracy, I left. Get a dictionary and
look up some words – we are a Constitutional Republic. Anyone that expects me to take
them seriously and refers to us as being a Democracy is just pissing in the wind.
I don’t care how many worthless phd’s you might have either. Your daddy probably
    bought them for you.

  6. I’d buy that for a dollar!!
