An abandoned motorbike has been found near a NSW Hunter Valley vineyard following the shooting of a bikie member.
The 56-year-old member of the Gladiator outlaw motorcycle club took himself to Cessnock Hospital shortly before 2pm (AEST) on Sunday.
A motorcycle was later found by police on the side of the road in a wine-growing area where the shooting is believed to have happened, the Seven Network reports.
A burnt-out car was found down the road and is understood to be linked to the shooting.
Police say the man is in a critical condition.
A crime scene has been established on Wine Country Drive, North Rothbury, which specialist forensic officers are examining.
The shooting victim was later airlifted to John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle where the Seven Network said Gladiator bikies met him in club colours.
