FAKE NEWS for the Zionist agenda “The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is well aware that Iran is not seeking to access nuclear weapons and that the production of such weapons has no place in the Islamic Republic’s strategy,” Bijan Nobaveh Vatan said on Tuesday.
On February 22, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said the Islamic Republic considers the pursuit and possession of nuclear weapons “a grave sin” from every logical, religious and theoretical standpoint.
“There is no doubt the decision makers in the countries opposing us know well that Iran is not after nuclear weapons because the Islamic Republic, logically, religiously and theoretically, considers the possession of nuclear weapons a grave sin and believes the proliferation of such weapons is senseless, destructive and dangerous,” the Leader said.
Nobaveh Vatan added that “the righteousness of the Islamic Republic in the nuclear issues has been proved today and [even] the Western powers confess to this reality.”
Iran and the P5+1 group – the US, China, Russia, Britain and France plus Germany – have agreed to hold substantive talks on Tehran’s nuclear energy program in Baghdad on May 23, 2012.
The latest round of talks between Tehran and the P5+1 group was held in the Turkish city of Istanbul on April 14.
Both sides hailed the discussions as constructive.
