A man found dead with gunshot wounds in an inner-western Sydney park last week has been identified as Nikolas Argiropoulos.
The 24-year-old man from Earlwood, in southern Sydney, was found by a walker at Ballast Point Park, Birchgrove, early on Thursday morning.
Police have released his name and a photograph as part of a public appeal.
Detectives believe Mr Argiropoulos was shot in the park in the early hours of Thursday morning, or the previous night, as part of a targeted shooting.
Mr Argiropoulos was last seen the night before his body was found at 7am (AEDT).
Strike Force McCarr has been established to investigate the death.
