The Blaze reports that staunch conservative and Mitt Romney supporter Ted Nugent will meet with the Secret Service on Thursday to discuss the threatening statements he made towards Democrats and President Obama over the weekend.

Speaking at a National Rifle Association convention in St. Louis, the Nuge had some aggressive words towards Democrats, rallying the crowd with statements including, “We need to ride into the battlefield and chop their heads off in November.” The Secret Service quickly responded, assuring an “appropriate follow up” with Nugent. Appearing on Glenn Beck’s radio show this morning, Nugent revealed that he will indeed be meeting with the Secret Service over his comments.

“We actually have heard from the Secret Service and they have a duty,” said Nugent. “I support them. I salute them. And I look forward to our meeting tomorrow.” Nugent also took the opportunity to profess pacifism, despite his heavy firearms activism. “I’ve never threatened anybody’s life in my life. I’ve never threatened. I don’t waste breath threatening.”

Nugent didn’t seem nervous about the meeting, joking, “We’re going to have a little barbecue get-together.” Still, he knows the Secret Service are no laughing matter. “I’m not trying to diminish the seriousness of this, because if the Secret Service are doing it they are serious. They are dedicated and I will be as polite and supportive as I possibly can be, which will be thoroughly.”
