In the hours, days and weeks ahead, we can expect a concerted attack on the right to own firearms and the Second Amendment in response to the shooting in Colorado last night. Proponents of disarming the public will argue that restricting the right to own firearms will prevent mass murders and violence.

But here’s something they will not tell you: the chance you will be a victim of a mass shooting is at best miniscule.

Ronald Bailey, writing for Reason.com, cites some interesting statistics on gun violence. He takes his statistics from the Bureau of Justice Statistics:

The proportion of homicide incidents involving two victims has increased slightly from 2.7% in 1980 to 3.7% in 2008.

Homicide incidents involving three or more victims have also increased during this same period, but have remained less than 1% of all homicides each year.

Multiple victim homicides are so small as to be almost insignificant:

– 3.7% involved two victims

– 0.5% involved three victims

– 0.2% involved four victims

– 0.1% involved five or more victims.

Moreover, the homicide rate in the United States has declined sharply in recent years – from 9.3 homicides per 100,000 in 1992 to 4.8 homicides per 100,000 in 2010.

Of course, these figures mean nothing to the gun-grabbers in and out of government who exploit emotional issues for political gain. They will not rest until the Second Amendment is in shambles and you have no way of protecting yourself not only from criminals (who will have illegal guns) but from the very tryanny of government itself.

Unless the shooter totally takes me off guard, I will return fire as I am seldom unarmed whether the scum in government declare it a gun-free zone or not. Also, who in their right mind asks permission to carry concealed? F uck them and all you sheeple pussies that will be led to slaughter.

Politicians and left-wing media bobble heads are blaming gun ownership as the reason this happened. Its should be obvious to anyone with two brains cells to cause friction in their thought processes to see that this was a patented false flag staged event. The UN Small Arms Treaty is the motivating force behind this sick and cowardly act. James Holmes was their delivery boy. Obama will appease the lilly-livered marxist liberal half-wits and endorse the signing of the UN treaty. Romney on the other hand will just look like a deer caught in the head lights unless he quickly takes the opposite position and rebukes the treaty. The dark forces of tyranny have just declared war on the 2nd amendment, but in the end will fail. The light of reason and freedom will prevail.

Two victims: Usually 20% are covered nationally and usually involve a celebrity as a victim or the shooter, Most famous is the O.J. Simpson murder case.

Three victims: Usually 5% are covered nationally and usually involve a celebrity.

Four victims: Usually 6-10% are covered nationally and usually involve a celebrity, but sometimes include a situation where a politician may be shot at.

Five victims: Usually 2-3% are covered nationally and are sometimes high profile events like what happened today in Aurora, Colorado. In fact, this will likely be the worst shooting since Columbine, however most shootings of this measure in the United States aren’t reported nationally unless a celebrity is involved. Most of these types of shootings involve the gunman shooting up a family of five so he can take their possessions or maybe your friendly neighborhood swat team opening fire on a crowded marketplace, but one where there is a hostage situation.

Bloomberg is too busy sucking cocks to read our posts.
For years I heard criminals get their guns illegally. Being young and naive, I didn’t really believe that. But my favorite program on TV is The First 48 on AE. Most of the time it’s a black guy killing another black guy in Miami or Dallas. Never once, and I MEAN NEVER ONCE did the detective doing a shooting investigation even think of tracing the serial number on a gun to see who it belonged to. Because all these gangbanger inner city thugs get all their guns illegally. If our government took away our right to bear arms the black market gun trade would skyrocket and the criminals would come out and eat us for lunch, we would be dead meat. So if they come to take your guns you better go out shooting.
