On Monday, the G20 summit will take place. While this summit is not intended to debate the topic Syria and to put this topic at the center, but at least, the U.S. President Barack Obama and the Russian counterpart Putin will sure discuss a little bit about Syria and Iran.

What or rather, whether something will come out of this conversation, which is able to de-escalate the situation on the ground, is hardly conceivable considering the opposite attitudes and interests.

The fact is, however, that a political solution must be found and has also to be found quickly, when one is interested to prevent the outbreak of an open war and thus, the beginning of a conflagration in the region. At least at this point, it seems that some opponents and supporters of the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad agree: they reject a foreign intervention in Syria.

Exceptions are the Islamists “Syrian National Council” (SNC), based in Turkey, which still loudly demands from NATO, that the NATO troops should perceive their duties and that NATO fulfills its responsibilities. In addition, also parts of the armed militias and the so-called “Free Syrian Army” (FSA) beg for a military intervention in Syria.

But the overthrow and primarily the violent overthrow of the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and the government in the capital Damascus will not lead to peace in Syria. This country of the Middle East will most likely break up.

If one views solely the so-called “Syrian rebels”, one realizes quickly that these armed militias are not united and that these groups of criminals, jihadists, religious fanatics and foreign mercenaries are not interested in democracy, peace and a secular Syria. These armed militias are many splinter groups that only operate currently in common, because they share, at least, one common goal: the violent overthrow of the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

But already the motivations to achieve this goal are very different. The fact, that these groups will continue to wage war after the fall of Bashar al-Assad and will try to gain power and influence, in order to implement their questionable interests, one can count already on five fingers and is reminiscent of the current situation with these former NATO rebels in Libya.

Armed militias, religious fanatics and criminals are fighting in order to increase their influence and power, but also to implement some of their dubious and questionable interests.

The situation in Syria is messy, the six-point peace plan by UN-Arab League envoy Kofi Annan seems to actually be the only way for Syria in order to still prevent the worse. However, the Syrian government is not able to stop the violence alone. As long as the armed militias, Islamists and criminals receive support with money, ammo and weapons, in order to implement their alleged right, the violence will sure continue.

Especially the radical militias and the Islamists “Syrian National Council” (SNC) in Istanbul do reject possible negotiations with the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and the government in Damascus. They are the aggressors, which pour oil into the fire, again and again.

Not to mention that this so-called “Free Syrian Army” (FSA) and the “Syrian National Council” (SNC), based in Turkey, are a useful group to get support by the West and the Gulf States Qatar and Saudi Arabia, but in a normal democratic behavior, the internal Syrian opposition should have the support by the so-called democratic powers of the West.

It has long since no longer about whether to stay or not to Assad. It seems that a point is reached where it is currently very important to care about the possible methods to create conditions that will bring Syria into a good future and which will also maintain the previously practiced religious freedom and the tolerance between the different sects.

The secular Syria was and is the only way to go. In this current situation in Syria, all sides, that still support radical Islamists and armed religious fanatics, and criminals in Syria, are making themselves guilty. Especially with the support of the “Syrian National Council” (SNC), and the splintered militias, the basic conditions of religious freedom and tolerance between people are not given in and for Syria.

There will be a development in Syria, as it is now able to get observed in all other countries that have experienced the so-called Arab spring. In all countries, a re-Islamization and radicalization is clearly visible, with the tendencies of a clear takeover by the Muslim Brotherhood and Salafists.

That these “religious groups” are not really interested in the freedom of religion, let alone in democracy, is known by the NATO countries, but that still does not prevent them to support such forces as long as they behave “loyally”, especially to the interests of the United States.

It’s a sick game for supremacy in the Middle East and, particularly in Syria, a game for control of access between Asia and Europe. It’s a power struggle between Sunnis and Shiites and between the great powers. Some sides are misused, as usually.

The sectarian cards are easy to play, the so-called “Salvador Option” and the “unconventional warfare” manual of the United States seems to work, although it already lasts longer than some sides have thought before. The human rights, which are advanced again and again, do not play a role in reality.

The United States are very big and loud in indictments, but they always occur as the aggressor and more and more know, that the United States do not care about human rights. The role of aggressor by the United States has already cost the lives of many thousands innocent people.
