Two teenage bushwalkers are stranded in remote terrain between Goulburn and Bowral in the NSW Southern Highlands, but their position has been located by police.
The boys, aged 16 and 17, set out from Foxgrove Road in Canyonleigh at about 11am (AEST) on Friday.
The pair contacted police by mobile phone when they realised they would not make it out of the bush before nightfall.
Using the signal from the boys’ mobile phone, police have been able to establish their exact location and will attempt to rescue them on Friday night.
Police say the boys are not injured and have food, water and warm clothing with them.
The NSW State Emergency Service, Rural Fire Service and Ambulance Special Casualty Access Team will assist police with the rescue.
